Free Zoom Parent Education Workshop: GIFTED+COMMON CHALLENGES OF DAILY LIFE: TUESDAY

  • Midwest Academy for Gifted Education 1164 North Milwaukee Avenue Chicago, IL, 60642 United States (map)

We have 3-part Series on ABA, an often misunderstood, frequently not covered by insurance, but very useful tool for a variety of challenges including but not limited to anxiety, executive functioning, starting and completing tasks like homework or chores, compulsive behavior, and other challenges. How does it work? How is it different from other therapies? How is it specifically applicable for gifted children? MAGE dedicated the programming this year exclusively to health supports for the community due to the extra strain placed on the community by the pandemic. We hope to be more balanced with non-health issues in the 2022-2023 year like in previous years! This year, there was so much need in the health area and not enough resources and support.

Part 2 of 3: GIFTED+COMMON CHALLENGES OF DAILY LIFE: TUESDAY MAY 3, 2022 8:30PM CST

Messy work. Perfectionism. Getting out the door on time in the morning! Social Anxiety. Gifted kids and their parents sometimes each have their own fingerprint of what’s hard for them. No one has everything easy all the time. Being gifted sometimes makes this harder! We will limit the scope to this, and exclude the needs of those for whom most of these things are a sinch! This is for those for whom there’s the start of frustration that’s now straining relationships. If you need help with a few things, come check out what ABA and BCBA work does to help solve small challenges and make things just a little easier for you and your child. Dr. Iannotta-Bieszczad will explain how ABA might help your child.
