GIFTED+VISION: Tuesday, July 19, 2022, 7PM
Midwest Academy for Gifted Education and the Chicago Gifted Community Center are excited to bring you a Free Gifted Parenting Education Series for the 4th season, this is still via zoom due to the pandemic. The format of each event in the series is an expert panel presentation on the topic, followed by 15-30 minutes of questions for the panelists. Free for CGCC and MAGE families, $3 fee per workshop for non-members.
She is so bright, but she can't find anything! Mathematically gifted kid hates reading and writing! Clumsy? Come learn about the difference between vision and sight. How do gifted kids mask vision problems? How do vision problems mask giftedness? What happens to a gifted child's vision when they are anxious? This will be a very deep dive appropriate not just for parents, but also for educators and health professionals working with the gifted population. It is especially applicable to highly and profoundly gifted children and adults as well as those who are twice exceptional. It will be 1-2 hours long. A more detailed description will be published, but we will start with this placeholder. The presentation will be followed by questions and answers from the audience. We may try to record the presentation, but not the Q and A.
